Bringing Life back in to my blog...

I am going to try to get back into posting on here.

The summer time was crazy with my manager being on maternity leave work was hectic. Then the husband and I had to book a somewhat last minute trip to Chihuahua Mexico to visit his mom's family. We had a great time, but were glad to come home!

We then embarked on the adventure of house hunting. We put in our first offer a couple weeks ago. We were 1 of 12 offers submitted. Turns out they liked our offer and have spent the last couple weeks countering back and forth. We finally got the paperwork today to move forward on the appraisal and inspections. If those come back the way we are hoping we are scheduled to close on the house on November 24th, two days before Thanksgiving. Fun stuff!

I will share the details of the house if we end up getting it. Cross your fingers for us!

Most recent project

My mom has been saying she wanted me to make her a quilt for her couch. She wanted a fairly large one but then found a fabric she really wanted for the back and there wasn't much left. So we ended up decideing to do more of a throw type size. I just finished it tonight and this is how it turned out. She is going to love it!
Here is a picture of the whole back, then a close up.

Here is a full picture of the front and then a close up.

This is the first time I have actually quilted a blanket together. I think I did a good job.

Quilt

So like I have mentioned before I am partcipating in a quilting bee. Each month someone sends out fabrics to everyone else and they are all supposed to make a square for you and send it back. Well April was my month to send out fabrics. These are the squares that I have received back so far.
So there are supposed to be a total of 12 squares including one I make for myself. Well my friend Patty, has offered to make me some extra squares, so I will be sending her some more fabric and look forward to seeing what she comes up with to add.

When you know the owner of a Monster Truck.....

You can have the ability of getting up in the truck and playing....
Me sitting in the drivers seat:

I am explaining to the owner that they need to install a slide that folds out from the hood so that you can just slide down from way the heck up there!

So much fun! The next mission is to take my 3 year old nephew to go see the truck up close, and possibly let him get up in the drivers seat..... Will I not be the bestest Auntie ever?!

Baby gifts...

So there has been a sudden baby boom in my friends and I typically try to make them a gift. Well with school and everything I didn't have time to do the types of projects that I like to do. I usually do a quilt or crochet a blanket. So I have started to make these little flannel recieving blankets.

I have already gave away some before I took pictures of them. These are the ones I gave my manager.

Fleece blankets

So I wanted to make something for my nephews and thought blankets that fit their personalities would be a good idea. So I came across some fleece on sale that fit them perfectly. Then I decided to make one for my goddaughter who loves soccer. I wish I could make some money off of making these, but we will see!
This one is for my little nephew, he loves doggies.

This one is for my older nephew, he loves Monster Trucks
